I’m a cinematographer driven by light, rhythm, and emotion.
Whether shooting commercials, documentaries, or feature films, I strive to create images that resonate — serving the story, the director’s vision, and the audience’s heart.
Born among oil platforms in Stavanger — the heart of Norway’s petroleum industry on the rugged southwest coast — I grew up surrounded by striking landscapes: hiking and skiing in the mountains, fishing in the fjords during summer. That constant closeness to nature shaped my eye for light, texture, and atmosphere.
After dividing my high school years between classes, theatre work, and video workshops, I went on to study filmmaking at The London Film School. Returning to Norway in 1996, I began my career assisting on dramas and commercials, while also shooting and editing industrial films for the oil industry.
From there, the adventures truly began. Since then, I’ve been fortunate to shoot films across the world — from commercials and corporate films to documentaries, TV series, and feature films — working as camera operator, 2nd unit DP, and cinematographer.
Working with a wide range of directors, styles, and cultural backgrounds has shaped both my visual language and my ability to adapt — creating imagery that not only serves the story, but moves the viewer.
As an artist, I am constantly exploring new ways to tell stories and evoke emotion — in a craft that keeps evolving in technology, form, and ideology. For me, the essence of cinematography lies in understanding how visual rhythm and composition support the story, and in applying the right cinematic tools with precision and sensitivity.
Whether working on small, fast-paced productions or large-scale feature films, I approach every project with the same dedication to detail and a clear visual identity — always in close collaboration with my team.
Ultimately, cinema is a collective art form.
I am a proud member of the Norwegian Society of Cinematographers (FNF), the Lithuanian Association of Cinematographers (LAC), and currently serve on the board of the Norwegian Filmworkers Union.
And beyond motion pictures — I’m also an enthusiastic stills photographer, always seeking new light, new stories, new perspectives.
